Generative Design
TRIADEX TONES is a live-coding music event hosted at the Computer History Museum, featuring six artists who perform entirely through code in real time. As an extension of my CHM rebrand, the goal of the event is to showcase how technology is constantly evolving and pushing boundaries.
The name comes from the Triadex Muse, the first algorithm-based sequencer/synthesizer intended for home consumers, and one of the earliest examples of generative music.
Poster Series
The visual identity showcases the progression of technology throughout history. The stripes reference the Triadex Muse hardware, while the wires and dials mirror modern soundboards. A visual timeline of one innovation leading to another.
Spatial Component
Using ml5 body segmentation and an arduino, I created a spatial component that visitors can interact with at the event. One dial cycles through the six artists and plays their music. The other controls the body mask, shifting between a pixelated and smooth appearance.
(fun fact: the arduino almost caught on fire 5 different times...but i made it work!)
Digital PresenceThe website offers an interactive experience similar to the spatial component, allowing users to cycle through the different artists and see which dates they are performing.
